It's mid-February! Hello! (dusts off keyboard)
How are you?
My answer to the same question would be: "Depends on when you ask me." Some days I feel despondent - others, resilient and optimistic. Anyone else want the Bad Bunny high to go a little further into the week than it did? Yeah, me too. We are so hungry for signs of hope, community, and love. They are out there. It's so easy to feel the tidal wave pull of the onslaught, though. Have compassion for yourself on those days when it feels too much. And, as you are able, find nurture, safe spaces, and community.
The bitter cold of polar vortexes moving through Wisconsin seems to have finally lost its bite. We are cold, but in a way that you can bundle up and still enjoy being outside. We are nearing our second anniversary in Wisconsin. I've learned I love the winter sunshine on cold days. The sculptural, graphical outlines of snow on the geography, the burnt sienna leaves still hanging on the oak trees, the textured silhouettes of the barren trees, and the accents of dark sap green of evergreens against brilliant blue skies. The long, tall, cobalt blue shadows created by the sun make this artist's eye very happy!
I moved my art table and work arrangement last month – setting myself up for easier audio and visual creating. I'm going to resist the urge to get everything right before I start sharing. That's stopped me so many times in the past. I'll share when there is new content for you to see. I'd love your reactions and feedback. 💖
