Good morning!! It's been months since I dropped into your inboxes. How are you??

I have been enjoying the back-and-forth dance of winter and spring here... still. I've never lived in a place where spring takes so very long to arrive. That said, other than a couple of random nighttime freeze warnings, we seem to be really, truly welcoming spring.

Lemme catch you up on the last couple of months.

My painting work is mostly filled with Sandhill Cranes. Having lived my life on the West Coast, I've found that discovering these ancient, tall, graceful dinosaurs (since moving here) has been amazing. Since I am continuing in my investigation phase of painting and seeing where it takes me, I decided to let them be my muse. I saw more of them this spring than in my entire time living here up to this point. They have been messengers of beauty, being present and consistent.

In the middle of working with the Sandhills... I spent some time painting the view of Mt Rainier from Seward Park. I really miss Seattle.

So, back to what you might have forgotten...

I've been thinking about what I am interested in creating in my life... as an artist, as a human participating in this incredible, confusing adventure called being alive.

We often hear that some days are just ordinary, or that we are ordinary and should blend in, or that our daily routines are just filler between bigger moments. But I learned a long time ago that this just isn't so. (Confession: I do have to remind myself of what I've learned.) Even the most mundane things hold a secret depth, and the person reading this right now? You are no ordinary person!! 💖
